Pace is a daily tracker for individuals and small teams, operated by Umair Niazi. This page describes exactly what the service stores and what it does with it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

What is stored

Two kinds of data, and nothing else:

  • Your account. An email address, and the authentication records that let you sign in. If you sign in with Google, that means your email address and the account identifier Google returns. No password is ever stored, because the service does not use passwords.
  • What you record. The goals, earning entries, activity counters and their individual events, outcomes, tasks, planner blocks, focus sessions, categories, and settings that you enter yourself.
  • Team membership. If you create or join a team: the team’s name, who belongs to it, the tasks and comments shared on its board, and, if an admin sets them up, the Discord webhooks updates are posted to.

There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel, and no third-party tracker on any page of this site. Nothing profiles you and nothing is sold.

Why it is stored

To provide the service. The whole point of Pace is continuity: a period that has closed keeps the numbers it closed with, so that months later you can still see what was true at the time. That requires keeping the records rather than discarding them at the end of each week.

Who can see it

You, and the people you choose to share with. Every table is protected by row-level security in the database, enforced below the application: a query for rows you were not given returns nothing, even if the application asked for them. The operator can technically reach the database for maintenance, as with any hosted service, but does not read your records as part of running it.

If you join a team, its members can see your name and the progress on the counters you track for the team, and everyone on the team can see its task board. Your personal goals, earnings, outcomes and other counters stay yours. If a team admin connects Discord, the progress and task activity they choose is posted to that Discord channel, where Discord’s own privacy policy applies.

Where it is stored

In a managed PostgreSQL database: Supabase (PostgreSQL). Data is transmitted over TLS. The hosting provider processes it solely to run the database.

How long it is kept

For as long as your account exists. Records are deliberately durable: archiving hides an item from everyday use while keeping its history, which is a feature rather than an accident. Deleting your account removes your rows: every table is keyed to your account and cascades on deletion.

Cookies

Only what authentication requires. The session cookies set by Supabase keep you signed in and are refreshed as you browse. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to consent to beyond signing in.

Your choices

  • Export. Ask and you will be sent your records in a machine-readable form.
  • Correction. Everything you enter is editable in the app itself, including entries inside periods that have already closed. Those are then flagged as edited after close, so the record stays honest.
  • Deletion. Ask and your account and all of its rows are removed.

If this page changes in a way that affects what is stored or who can see it, the date at the top changes with it.
